Amercian Psycho

Funny and gory - a very good film. It is about an 'average' executive tpe American guy, however underneath he is a psycho killer. The film is very good because his character is amusing and the killings are quite bruta but light heartedl - however at the end, you never quite know what has happened. I don't think that the sequel would be as good ( I've only read the film cover though). But this is a film defintely worth watching.

Amercian Werewolf in Paris

This is quite a good film, but apprantly not as good as An American Werewolf in London ( I haven't seen that). It's about some American boys who go over to London, and one plans to bungee off the Eifel Tower. When there, he saves a girl from commiting suicide by grabbing her on the way down on his bungee rope. She is very mysterious and he tries to find more about her. Unfortunatly, werewolves are going on the rampage around a night club which he stumbles on. He gets bitten, and the mysterious girl tries to make him come to terms with being a werewolf. There are fights with bad werwolves - there are some good scenes, especially where they are having a fight on the undeground. It is also quite humorous and I'd recommend getting it for the collection.

The Amityville Horror

After reading the book, I realised that the film isn't as good as the book - but this is usually the case! They did leave out some good scary things that happened in the book. However, it is quite good and does have a good atmosphere, even though it isn't VERY scary. It is debated whether it is a true story or not . . . It's about the Lutz family who move into a new house - very cheaply priced for such a large house. The family that had lived there before had been brutually murdered by the son of the family claiming that spirits told him to do it (this bit is true). Shortly after they move in, they have terrifying experiences and it seems that there is some evil spirits in the house. They begin to take over Mr Lutz, who becomes irritable and violent, and always cold in temperature. In the end they have no choice but to leave the house where they are tommented constantly by spirits. If you like ghost stories then this is a good film to watch.

Anatomy

This is a German film, and they do make good horror films! Blood and gore count is very high and there is also some black comedy, with highly good effects. It takes place in a highly established doctor's training college in Germany. People start dying and it turns out that they are being killed and chopped about while alive, so that they can have very realisic models. There are some gory momments - a young man wakes up on an operating table and looks down at his arm which has the skin removed and his tendons and muscles showing. It is a very good film, although it is english subtitiles but still brilliant as teh models are brilliantly crafted.
